I keep trying to arrange activities for my every day life but they always end up getting shifted around somehow. Ah, the beauty of being flexible! Today at least I finally got around to updating! :)
The task of the day: reconstructing Totoro!
Before:
Totoro is a character from the famous Miyazaki film, Tonari no Totoro. Japanese (and Americans, and my host mom) dote on Totoro, and Ghibli films in general. Preservation of nature is an overarching theme. Thus, one of the many attractions at Apple Mint is this Totoro made of cedar branches. These constructions are fairly common around here. Typically they have a polystyrene interior, but this one is made of hay (with Styrofoam mouth and eyes).
That's all for now! I have no time to explain further for the onsen awaits >_<. But more exciting chronicles are to come!
