Recap of Missed Adventures!

Being busy (and slow) there is a lot of WWOOFing adventures that I didn't get around to updating, so I'll briefly go through and explain some of them now.

On one of my days off, I set out to explore the town of Minamioguni by bike!

I found a bunny petting zoo and a deer park beside a rest stop@  There I also met a rich sake brewer who invited me to his residence.  At the time I was a little sketched out, but he said that his children all studied abroad all over the world and were fluent in English.  I never returned his offer, although when I told my host family about him, they seemed rather amused as he is apparently well known.Cedar trees are raised to have straight, branchless trunks.

The following day work ended early, so I explored some more where I left off.
I checked out the Sakamoto Zenzo museum.

Sakamoto Zenzo grew up in Kumamoto before launching his art career in Tokyo.  His work is abstract although he features a lot of Kumamoto's landscape as well.

You can access a cave from underneath!

Shimo bashira--frost columns.  They were growing on the hill outside of my house one morning.

The last night I stayed I prepared Korean bulkogi!  First I marinated it overnight.
Grilling was not so beautiful.
Cucumber salad
The kimchi was probably the favorite.  Normal, slightly sweet Japanese and gekikara (extremely spicy) kimchi.  A household of many palates.
